As a brokerage, we set big goals for ourselves and our agents. With 2020 starting up, we would like to celebrate our achievement as being the #1 Real Estate office in Erie!   1. Organizational Ideas

In the office, at home, or even in the car, organization is key. Sometimes it may even feel overwhelming due to the lack of space for all of your treasures. But don’t fret! Losing track of your favorite flavors in the kitchen? HGTV recommends a spinning spice rack, perfect for keeping spices and seasonings out of the way.

Running out of closet space? Consider a garment rack to store shirts, shoes, and accessories in your room. Don’t forget the modern and aesthetic look it could add! Not only can you stay organized, but also create an easier way to find the perfect outfit. 

Papers, scissors, and pens, oh my! We are all guilty of having a messy office space sometimes, but we have the perfect tip for you! Our agents recommend purging that desk once a week. Go through all of your papers, folders, and drawers and shred away! Only keep the important documents and tools, the rest can go. 

A desk organizer is also recommended to stay as organized as possible. Still not enough? Consider color-coded folders. Whether it be for prioritizing work or sorting it by subject, you can never go wrong with this!

Maybe the most obvious way to have a good year is good health. The first option is to consider getting a gym membership. Some gyms found in Erie are as low as $10 a month. Going to a gym will help the motivation flow. Not interested in paying monthly fees? Working out at home can be just as simple. There are many different apps, websites, and books perfect for at home workouts, some are even free! 


Eating healthy can be intimidating, but we are here to help. When it comes down to it, there’s no need for a strict diet or specific meal plans to do this. An easy start to healthy eating is making sure you have enough of each type of food. 

Vegetables, nuts, and grains are the most commonly forgotten foods, so remember to include them! Avocados and watermelon are some of the best ways to get that kick of energy, along with almonds, kale, and bananas. 

Smoothie bowls are also great ways to make sure you’re getting those nutrients in the best tasting way possible. Limiting saturated fats, salt, and sugar is the top suggestion from NHS (National Health Service). 



  1. Motivation, Motivation, Motivation

One of the hardest things to do is to stay motivated. We all have lazy days where we binge our favorite shows and snack endlessly, but some days we need to push ourselves. It. Is. Hard. But, we might have the solution.

The first suggestion we offer is a dream board. This can be a poster or a Pinterest board where you compile all of your favorite things or goals to remind you what you are working toward. Some examples are motivational quotes, places to travel, financial milestones, or even a dream home. This way, whenever you look at it, you’ll get the motivation and inspiration you need.


 

Who doesn’t like rewards? Creating a short term reward system can significantly improve your drive to complete a task. Struggling to finish a book? Allow yourself to eat a piece of chocolate for every five pages, trust us it works! Gummy Bears not doing it for you? It can be anything from a pizza party to a new phone. 

Goals are important, and we aren’t talking about soccer. Short-term goals are a great way to start a project due to the almost immediate pay-off. Nothing feels better than hitting that first milestone.

Beside the goal or project’s completion, long-term goals are essential. The big pay-offs and rewards along the way can really help you stay strong. A certain profit or tangible product can do wonders for you and your mentality.

A great way to keep track of these goals are to write them down. Just imagine the big X you’ll be putting through those lists soon enough.

  1. Money Matters

The title says it all. It can be hard to manage money, but you’ve come to the right place! There’s no doubt that money is important, and although you can’t buy happiness, it sure does help! 

Saving money is always hard, but we’ll do our best to break it down into easy steps. The first step would be to weary of impulse buys. Forbes recommends waiting a day before a purchase. It will cut back on unnecessary spending while still giving you the happiness of shopping. Goodbye new lipstick, hello $15!

Another way to save is to track your spending for a month. Seeing the numbers on paper can really help you to become aware of unnecessary purchases. We all love coffee, but maybe $50 a month isn’t worth it. 


Investing can be tricky and risky, but who doesn’t love the thrill? Stocks are one way to invest money, but lots of research should be done before fully committing. Day to day responsibilities not your thing? Consider bonds. You’ll earn interest on the money you lend, while not having to lift a finger.

And finally, no surprise here, real estate. Not only will property always be worth something, but it’s always in demand! From flipping houses to renting, you choose your workload.

With 2020 just getting started, it’s a perfect time to rebrand yourself. A new style is a great way to not only bring change into your life, but benefit others, as well. Here are some of the most interesting and beneficial style changes you need to know about! 

The minimalistic style of living isn’t as common as one might think, but boy is it aesthetic! Living with less is what minimalism is all about. When it comes to clothing, closets consist of only a few shirts and bottoms, which all look great together. This would definitely help save time and space in the closet! Simple, small furniture is found in the home, typically along the colors of white with an occasional plant and wooden floors. By limiting the amount of furniture and overall clutter in the home, let the zen energy flow!


Speaking of aesthetics, the modern style is a personal favorite! From metal to glass, this style has got it all! Modern homes usually have the most beautiful exteriors, incorporating unique architecture. On the inside, black and white are the usual color schemes. With large windows and simple furniture, what isn’t there to love about this distinctive style. Living with this is sure to eliminate stress and inspire creativity. 


Last, but certainly not least, is country-style homes. This style has a very homey feel and create a very welcoming environment to any visitors. Wood and warm colors are the best way to compliment this style. Bricks are also a sure way to go! The furniture found in these homes are typically large couches, comfortable chairs, and long tables, ensuring there’s enough space for everyone! If you have a big family or enjoy lots of company, this style is always a great route to take!
